Dance Umbrella for South Coast presents Gala 2025

April 19, 2025

Dance Umbrella for South Coast Oregon presents Gala 2025. Youth pre-professional dancers from the South Coast come together in this one-night only performance to celebrate the art of dance. Youth dancers including South Coast Dance Project, MarLo Dance Studio and Boom! Dance Studio will be performing at the Hales Center for Performing Arts Saturday April 19 at 6 p.m. The cost is $15 in advance or $18 at the door. Get your advance tickets here. The Gala raises funds for dancers to receive scholarships through DUSCO for summer intensives and other out of state dance education. Come support the dancers of the South Coast.

Pigs on the Wing: Echoes of Pink Floyd Tour

The Egyptian Theatre presents Pigs on the Wing’s 2024-2025 tour, “Echoes of Pink Floyd”. This tour is a second act to the band’s previous year’s tour. As before, the Echoes of Pink Floyd tour will feature a new selection of the very best of classic-era Pink Floyd cuts organized into 2 distinct sets. Rather than performing a single album from start to end, expect to hear the band focus on their favorite sections of the classic albums, including hits, deep cuts, and the band’s trademark willingness to explore the sonic space in experimental improvisation. 3rd Annual High Tide Tattoo and Arts Festival

April 25 - April 27, 2025

The best tattoo convention on the Oregon Coast: High Tide Tattoo & Art Festival! This three-day event runs April 25 - 27 and is held in the Salmon Room at The Mill Casino Hotel and RV Park. The festival is filled with world-class tattoo artists from all over the country. Multi award-winning artists like Brandon Davenport, Jamy Carlton and former Ink Master contender Mat Valles will be competing for locally made custom trophies, bragging rights, and a prize provided by ShowNation. Attending guests will have the rare opportunity to work with artists directly to plan their next tattoo or witness others act as canvas for these artists inked imagination. The $15 entry fee gets you into the event each day. All ages are welcome; 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult; 12 and under will receive free admission. Tickets go on-sale April 4, 2025 in Ko-Kwel Gifts located off the lobby of the Mill Casino Hotel.

Coos History Museum First Talk Tuesday: Mitzi Loftus

The Coos History Museum proudly presents author Ms. Mitzi Loftus lecturing at the First Tuesday Talk on Tuesday, May 6 from 6 to 7 pm. Ms. Loftus, born in Hood River, will recount her life as a Japanese American, including her three years of WWII incarceration, one year as a Fulbright teacher in Japan and two years in Germany with her spouse and three kids. The Coos Watershed Association is hosting its 9th Annual Mayfly Festival on May 17. The Mayfly Festival is a free, all-ages, hands-on celebration of watershed ecology and interconnectedness. Annual Oregon Coast Music Festival

July 12 - July 26, 2025

The 47th Oregon Coast Music Festival returns this July 12 - 26 with two weeks of stunning classical and jazz performances. Known as the “Tanglewood of the West Coast,” it's the longest-running music festival on the Oregon Coast, featuring over 80 musicians from across the country. Enjoy concerts at scenic venues like Shore Acres, Mingus Park, and the OIMB Boat House, plus free seminars at Southwest Oregon Community College. The Sunset Bay Angler Of The Day Kayak Fishing Challenge (SBAOTD) is an annual human powered kayak only fishing competition held on the ocean near Coos Bay Oregon. This year's 15th annual tournament is set to begin at first light on Saturday, September 13th, 2025.

Pre-registration is required to compete. The entry fee is $35. The registration cut-off will be at a date determined by the event coordinators. The first 40 contestants to pay their entry fee will receive a Captain's Bag. Find every detail about this event on Facebook here.

Annual Cruz the Coos

The Coos Bay-North Bend Rotary Club proudly presents Cruz the Coos & Show ‘n Shine, part of the Bay Area Fun Festival on Saturday, September 20. Cruz the Coos is one of the largest and longest-running classic car cruises on the Oregon Coast, drawing thousands of spectators to downtown Coos Bay. The Show ‘n Shine features beautifully restored vintage cars and trucks, with a chance to meet the owners and enjoy local food and amenities at The Mill Casino Hotel & RV Park. Proceeds from the event support Rotary Club projects, including scholarships, humanitarian efforts, and funding for local non-profits.

Saturday, September 20:

Day-of registration runs from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.

Show ‘n Shine takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Mill Casino.

Awards will be presented between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.

Cruise lineup begins at 5:00 p.m., and Cruz the Coos rolls through downtown Coos Bay from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

The Race Is On! Saturday, September 20, 2025 take part in the Annual Prefontaine Memorial Run. This event is part of the annual Bay Area Fun Fest, September 20 & 21, 2025. This challenging 10K road race honors legendary distance runner Steve Prefontaine with a hilly, out-and-back course through Coos Bay. The event includes a 10K run and 2-mile walk.
